SOZO (BIS)BIOIMPEDENCE SPECTROSCOPY

LYMPHOEDEMA & BODY COMPOSITION ANALYSIS SCAN

Our SOZO Bioimpedance Spectroscopy (BIS) device is an advanced Body Analysis scale that accurately measures extracellular and intracellular fluid volume to aid in the assessment and intervention of Lymphoedema.

SOZO the world’s most advanced tissue analysis device, which can detect fluid changes as small as 2.4 tablespoons and takes less than 30 seconds to complete at your consultation. This technology enables early detection of fluid accumulation which has been shown to reduce the incidence of clinical Lymphoedema up to 10 months before symptoms arise.

Measurements are made by passing 256 frequencies through the body’s fluid via a harmless and pain-free electrical signal.

Patients receive a baseline measurement before treatment commences and then are re-tested (initially at 3 month intervals) to check for indication of Lymphoedema developing requiring intervention. Recently published results showed that early detection combined with standard compression therapy can reduce the progression of Lymphoedema by 95%.

A single SOZO measurement provides specific measurements of:

  • Total Body Water (TBW)

  • Extracellular Fluid (ECF)

  • Intracellular Fluid (ICF)

  • Fat-Free Mass (FFM)

  • Fat Mass (FM)

  • Active Tissue Mass (ATM)

  • Skeletal Muscle Mass (SMM)

  • Protein & Minerals

  • Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR)

  • Body Mass Index (BMI)

  • Hydration Analysis

  • Phase Angle (cell health)
