Pneumatic Compression Pumps mimic the movement of a healthy lymphatic system by means of applying gradient pressure, starting from the hand or foot and moving towards the torso stimulating the flow of lymph fluid which creates a gentle massaging action.

Pump therapy is particularly helpful for people suffering fragile or broken skin where massage or movement is uncomfortable as it does not cause any friction as well as aiding in wound healing by increasing blood circulation.

During pump therapy at MPLC your practitioner will also apply soft pressure to activate lymph nodes and guide you through diaphragmatic breathing exercises to optimize the clearing of lymph fluid.

It is important to point out that compression therapy with bandages and/or garments must be continued following pump therapy to prevent a rebound of swelling
